we paid for a go I took the first shot and missed took a booth photograph laughed so hard you got stitch checking pockets for change wondering where had it all gone eating fish and chips and walking home in the last of the sun and I'd give anything I'd give anything trapped out in the rain jangling keys in the dark I'd get so angry and you'd start to laugh when you took that big job in Sydney we thought we'd be fine I lasted three days then I followed you up in the train I'd give anything I'd give anything I've still got that booth photograph pinned on my wall we look like kids and I guess that's what we were and I suppose that I understand why it didn't work out but I can't make sense of this train that still runs through my heart and I'd give anything I'd give anything
