Waiting

i’m hanging on all these words that i should have said,
i’m staring down at these letters i never sent,
would they have changed your mind?

i’m looking down at these pictures in my hands,
i’m arguing with the voices inside my head,
could i have changed your mind?

i drove a thousand miles trying to get to you,
just to find out you were not there.

and i’ll keep waiting,
and hopefully someday,
we can be more than,
more than a memory,
you were the harmony,
til you changed the key.

i’m hanging on all these words that you had said,
and all the times that you loved me i never would have guessed,
that this would be happening.

i’ve locked myself in a room for the past eight days,
i’ve shut the blinds so the sun can not spread its grace,
why is this happening?
but is this a lost cause,
is everything all wrong,
i took you for granted,
now everything’s all gone,
should i keep hoping,
or is this where i’m suppose to,
move on.

and i’ll keep waiting,
and hopefully someday,
we can be more than,
more than a memory,
you were the harmony,
til you changed the key.

and i’ll keep waiting (i’ll keep waiting),
and hopefully someday (hopefully someday),
we can be more than,
a memory.
