The Year That Got Away Testo

Testo The Year That Got Away

in winter you always look in trouble
or about to win something
folded arms, curled up pretty fists
running to the car

in autumn the leaves begin falling
our eyesight will start to get fogged
our japanese cars become hard to drive
without the air turned on
it got away from me
one got away

the summer round here has been awful
and who in New England owns pools?
we hoist heavy boxes into windows
and just try to sleep through the noise

spring makes me think of New Hampshire
or mountains that smell like the sea
i get afraid of the high spots
and the navy is no place for me

it got away from me
one got away
