There was a time when I seized the moment,
but now I'm forced to seize the past,
Clutching to faded memories,
of times that I thought would last

Looking back I remember the day
when I was satisfied with life's routine.
Things would always go my way,
and I was blind to reality.
Now that veil of optimism
has been torn from before my eyes.
Exposing a rude awakening
to the emptiness of human life.

So now I'm forced to face this world
and the sight of it sickens me.
There isn't anything I wouldn't give
to be blind again to reality.
