The Old Man Testo

Testo The Old Man

I once met a man, he said "look at me son, you've got to work hard with what you got,

Look at me now, but when i started out i sure as hell didn't have alot,

you remind me a lot of when i was a kid," he said, "I've got something that you need,

I don't give a damn about where you're from cause every man can succeed,"

oh buddy, oh buddy, it'll be ok, look at me son tomorrow might be your day

this old man looked me square in the eye and said he had something to say,

"I've had a good life, i'm 85 but the doctor said i'm on my way,"

He's loved and he's lost, he's been around, on his knees, he started to pray,

He didn't say much but all that i heard was "please, just one more day."

He reached in his pocket and pulled out his watch that he got when he was young,

he said his grandfather gave it to him for good luck and to pass it on,

"I was never to lonely, i've got a wife and kids, the most beautiful thing i've seen,
it's not rags to riches or riches to rags, a loving family's all you need."
